“It's - you know - explaining to my kid just because he’s not present here with us physically, doesn’t mean his presence isn't here with us,” she told the programme.“Writing is like breathing to me - even if I want to stop for a while, have a break, regroup, I simply can't. She told local TV that children needed to be reminded that a loved one’s “spirit is always alive in your home”. In an appearance on “Good Things Utah” she said she had written the book to help her children understand her husband’s death. She was promoting her book in television interviews as recently as last month. Ms Richins is also charged with possessing GHB, a drug often linked to “date rape” cases due to its ability to render people relaxed and drowsy. Mr Richins reportedly became seriously ill after having drinks or dinner with his wife on two other previous occasions, including during a holiday in Greece. He had “warned them that if anything happened to him, she was to blame,” according to search warrants seen by KPCW. Mr Richins’ family told investigators immediately after his death that they suspected she was responsible. The charges come after an “unnamed acquaintance” said that they sold fentanyl to Ms Richins. Officers said Ms Richins altered his life insurance policy to make herself the sole beneficiary.
